Goody-two-shoes: A character who was just so morally good
Edward Ferrars
(Sense and Sensibility, 1995)
At first this was hard. There aren't that many good moral characters out there. Then I thought of Elinor Dashwood and then I thought of Edward. Edward is such a sweet chum. He is loyal and honest. He is just amazing! I really want to watch the 2008 Sense and Sensibility. Is it any good? Please tell me. It has Dan Stevens!
Heartbreaker: A character who made you cry
Josephine March (Jo)
(Little Woman, 2019)
Okay so, I cried like SO much the first time I watched Little Women! I was a mess. I just couldn't stop! Everyone in Little Women 2019 are just such great actors! But yeah, I think Jo is the character that made me cry the most. When Beth dies, when she rejects Lourie, when she tells Fredrich she doesn't want him to leave.... oh I could just cry right now!
My favorite scene in the movie besides "Under the Umbrella"...
Parrot: A character who won’t stop talking
Mrs. Elton
(Emma 1996)
Mrs. Elton is positively a parrot. She is rude and proud. She does not stop talking about herself, yet she is likeable in a sense. That is all I have to say... goodbye Mrs. Elton.
Devilish: Your favorite Villain
Prince Humperdinck
(The Princess Bride)
Let me be honest... I don't like Humperdinck. Who does? There really aren't any villains I like. So I must go with Humperdinck. He killed Westly and that's pretty serious. Thankfully Westly was only mostly dead and not fully dead.
"Hello, my name is Buttercup. You killed my Westley. Prepare to die." -said no-one ever, until now
He really is a snake!
Love interest: A character who, if alive in reality, you would want to marry
The easiest question... This is so hard! Oh my! How will I ever choose! Mrs. Knightly is amazing, Westly is extremely handsome and good, not to mention Nathan (When Calls The Heart), and Mr. Darcy!
AHHHH! I don't know!!
This is really hard! I think I might just go with Mr. Knightly because he was my first choice but Nathan is a very close second. I just don't know much about Nathan. Let's be honest... he doesn't really talk much. Oh, I also forgot about Jim Craig from The Man from Snowy River.
He's Australian and he has a horse. What could be better?
But he has very bad taste in women... staying with Mr. Knightly.
Mr. Knightly
(Emma 1996)
"My Mr. Knightly!"
Mr. Knightly is amazing. He is honest and kind. One thing I really like about him is that he told Emma the truth even when it was hard to tell. He's really the best.
Sidekick: A character who was always loyal no matter what
Riley Poole
(National Treasure)
I'm going with Kathrine on this one. Riley is an awesome side kick. His little extra comments are just the best and he is so funny. Him and Ben work very well together. Honestly the book that he wrote in national treasure 2 sounds very interesting and I really want to read it! lol
“Government should be set up so that no man need be afraid of another.”
Because Riley has SO many great gifs and this tag calls for "as many gifs as you can," I will now break the gif record (not quite.)
Thank you. I'm done. Moving on...
Complicated: A character you love and hate
Lucas Bouchard
(When Calls the Heart)
This is actually hard one for me because I'm a very opinionated person and usually I either hate them or love them. But I guess I kind of hate and love Lucas. So Lucas is a great guy. He is kind and is a gentleman... BUT he is trying to win Elizabeth wich makes me hate him. If you watch when calls the heart you probably have guessed I am team Nathan. I am! Nathan is so much better for Elizabeth. I could get into a long talk on why, but let's skip it.
Poor Nathan! 😭😭😭
I think they should get Lucas hooked up with Fiona! That would be SO great! ECKCK!
Okay, now a few Nathan gifs because Nathan is better than Lucas.
Oddity: A character who was strange, but you loved them that way
Vizzini
(The Princess Bride)
Can I just say that the fact that I chose Vizzini is Inconceivable. Okay, sorry.
Now before I tell you all why I picked Vizzini, let us all have a bit of a cry and a laugh for this poor baby...
Well Vizzini is just the best. He is a moron that clams that Socrates is a moron. He dies halfway into the movie and yet is never forgotten. His famous line "inconceivable" is well known and shall go down in history. That is all I have to say. Till next time Vizzini.
BTW someone really needs to get his name off spell check. lol
Queen/King: A female/male character who you admire and aspire to emulate
Cinderella
(Cinderella 2015)
I will say this first off.. I do not wish to emulate Cinderella's modesty in some parts of the movie. There. I said it. Moving on...
Cinderella is very patient and kind. I thought of saying Danielle from Ever After but something that is very different between these two "Cinderella" characters is that Cinderella (2015) forgave her evil stepmother while Danielle did not. Cinderella always tried to remember and obey her mothers words. "Have courage and be kind." I thought about this awhile ago... Every girl has a longing to be Cinderella but no girl wants to endure what Cinderella had to endure to become Cinderella. It's easy to say "Have courage and be kind," but it's much harder to have courage and be kind. Even in the end after her evil stepmother had done every evil thing to her, Cinderella turned before leaving with the prince and spoke "I forgive you."
Can I just say that Cinderella's wedding dress is Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!
Savior: A character who oddly reminds you of Christ
Westley
(The Princess Bride)
Okay so, I feel like everyone else has or is going to have someone better that reminds them of Christ but I thought saying Aslan would be cheating. Hey, it did say oddly. Westley had to suffer and die for Buttercup. Jesus had to suffer and die for us. Also Westley was risen from the dead just like Jesus. Westley also defeated Prince Humperdinck and if you have a dizzying intellect you might think of Humperdinck as satan. Except for the fact that Jesus was all dead while Westley was only mostly dead. I see a lot of allegories in The Princess Bride that remind me of Christ and that's a good think because I love The Princess Bride. If you have read this I believe you shall probably never watch The Princess Bride the same way again.
Oh my word, I love your answers!!! My sister and I prefer the 2008 Sense and Sensibility, the music and cinematography are EPIC, though it does have a icky part very first thing between Willoughby and Miss Williams, but it is very easily fast-forwarded and the rest of the movie is excellent. We still haven't seen the new Little Women and that scene really makes me want to! Oh my yes! Mrs. Elton is a perfect parrot character!!! I love the Princess Bride movie!! Reily is so awesome and Vizzini is HILARIOUS!!! INCONCEIVABLE!! I never thought about that difference between Danielle and Cinderella, but you are very right! The best part of the story isn't the happily ever after (though that is very nice), but her steadfast character enabled her forgive. You've done an amazing job on this tag Beth!!!
I love Riley Poole - he's just hilarious! And I thought that it was really cool that in the new Cinderella, she forgives her stepmother. That "INCONCEIVABLE" line is one of my favorite movie quotes! And I thought your back and forth between what character you'd like to marry was very funny! :) And (I've said and 3x now) I love your pick of Mrs. Elton for the character who won't stop talking! I haven't seen that version of Emma for some time, and had completely forgotten about that Mrs. Elton and how great she was!
Absolutely not! lol Some places say "face covering" so you could just where a mask around your eyes. Lol I should do that. Oh, you should watch Beyond the Mask. Great movie and it's set in revolutionary war time! And the best part... it's Christian!!!!! I think of it as a Christian twist of Princess Bride and The Count of Monte Cristo. I think we mentioned it when y'all came over. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikptfZVhXlg
That would look pretty awesome... it would be even better as a waiter: "I want my steak rarely-well-done with a glass of spring water." "As you wish. But you forgot to add 'farm boy'..." I'll be honest: I enjoyed the movie, but it could have wrung so much more powerful, heart-wrenching scenes of repentance and forgiveness out of the premise. They could have played more strongly on his guilt and how tough it is to let yourself be forgiven, and then also strengthened Charlotte's arc by forcing her to deal with how her love for Jesus has to overcome her love for William. Thanks for the link! I never would have found it otherwise...
That may be a first... I found it on Youtube and it wasn't too long so I took my shot. I do wonder how they find so many attractive people to play roles, I almost feel like that's half the reason movies are appealing because the people are beautiful.
A first? Maybe one of few but not a first. Oh nice! Maybe, but these days they can make people look better on camera then they are in real life. There are also some actors who are less than agreeable. Nicolas Cage is not the best looking man who lived on earth and is an extremely popular actor. National Treasure is even one of my favorite movie.
Fair enough... Hah, that's true though, I was just talking with some friends about how Instagram and stuff can make people feel insecure. Though some people are truly blessed with crazy natural beauty. True, true. People love Nic Cage's off-the-wall personality... so I guess I still have a shot at stardom...
Please leave a comment but please make sure your words are kind! I will also not publish your comment if it is anonymous without a signed name on it! Thank you!
This was so fun to read! Thank you for tagging me! I haven’t watched the new little women but really ought to since it’s my favorite book!
ReplyDeleteThanks! You should! It's pretty good for the most part!

ReplyDeleteThank you! It was a bit hard but fun.
