Snow in Texas

I wrote this awhile ago. It's about the snow we had in Texas!

The rain spilled on the roof. It was only rain. Not the snow I had prayed for. The tempter continued to drop outside. The rain continued to fall.

"It' snowing!" one of my brother's yelled. I looked out my bathroom window again. It wasn't snowing.

"It's only sleet," answered my dad. I continued to get ready for church watching the sleet every once and a while. My siblings continued the conversation. Calling false alarms. Then my oldest little sibling called.

"It is snowing! I saw some flakes." I stared out the window. The sleet still fell. A few flakes fell now and then. I had seen real snow but few times in my life so I was unsure if the figure was snow.

"That's not snow," I answered. "It's sleet." They continued to protest that it was snow. I had pulled myself from the window and continued to get ready.

"It is snow!" they called again.

"No it isn't!" I called back dumbly.

"Are you kidding?" called a sibling. "That is snow!"

"It is snow!" came my father's voice.

I walked to the front door this time. Where they stood. It was snow. Lightly it fell to the ground and then melted away. Some fell in the unmoving puddles of water from the previous rain and melted quickly. I walked outside with many of my siblings. I held out my hand to receive the flakes. They melted also. The snow then continued to fall harder. The white filled the air with its magic. It was magical. Magical for Texas. It continued to pick up and continued to fall. It did not leave much of a mark on the ground but it still came persistently. It delayed our arrival at church for obvious reasons. It is not every day, nor every year in which snow falls in Texas.

Goody-two-shoes: A character who was just so morally good

Edward Ferrars

(Sense and Sensibility, 1995)

At first this was hard. There aren't that many good moral characters out there. Then I thought of Elinor Dashwood and then I thought of Edward. Edward is such a sweet chum. He is loyal and honest. He is just amazing! I really want to watch the 2008 Sense and Sensibility. Is it any good? Please tell me. It has Dan Stevens!

Heartbreaker: A character who made you cry

Josephine March (Jo)

(Little Woman, 2019)

Okay so, I cried like SO much the first time I watched
Little Women! I was a mess. I just couldn't stop! Everyone in Little Women 2019 are just such great actors! But yeah, I think Jo is the character that made me cry the most. When Beth dies, when she rejects Lourie, when she tells Fredrich she doesn't want him to leave.... oh I could just cry right now!

My favorite scene in the movie besides "Under the Umbrella"...

Parrot: A character who won’t stop talking

Mrs. Elton

(Emma 1996)

Mrs. Elton is positively a parrot. She is rude and proud. She does not stop talking about herself, yet she is likeable in a sense. That is all I have to say... goodbye Mrs. Elton.

Devilish: Your favorite Villain

Prince Humperdinck

(The Princess Bride)

Let me be honest... I don't like Humperdinck. Who does? There really aren't any villains I like. So I must go with Humperdinck. He killed Westly and that's pretty serious. Thankfully Westly was only mostly dead and not fully dead.

"Hello, my name is Buttercup. You killed my Westley. Prepare to die." -said no-one ever, until now

He really is a snake!

Love interest: A character who, if alive in reality, you would want to marry

The easiest question... This is so hard! Oh my! How will I ever choose! Mrs. Knightly is amazing, Westly is extremely handsome and good, not to mention Nathan (When Calls The Heart), and Mr. Darcy!
AHHHH! I don't know!!

This is really hard! I think I might just go with Mr. Knightly because he was my first choice but Nathan is a very close second. I just don't know much about Nathan. Let's be honest... he doesn't really talk much. Oh, I also forgot about Jim Craig from The Man from Snowy River.

He's Australian and he has a horse. What could be better?

But he has very bad taste in women... staying with Mr. Knightly.

Mr. Knightly

(Emma 1996)

"My Mr. Knightly!"

Mr. Knightly is amazing. He is honest and kind. One thing I really like about him is that he told Emma the truth even when it was hard to tell. He's really the best.

Sidekick: A character who was always loyal no matter what

Riley Poole

(National Treasure)

I'm going with Kathrine on this one. Riley is an awesome side kick. His little extra comments are just the best and he is so funny. Him and Ben work very well together. Honestly the book that he wrote in national treasure 2 sounds very interesting and I really want to read it! lol

“Government should be set up so that no man need be afraid of another.”

Because Riley has SO many great gifs and this tag calls for "as many gifs as you can," I will now break the gif record (not quite.)

Thank you. I'm done. Moving on...

Complicated: A character you love and hate

Lucas Bouchard

(When Calls the Heart)

This is actually hard one for me because I'm a very opinionated person and usually I either hate them or love them. But I guess I kind of hate and love Lucas. So Lucas is a great guy. He is kind and is a gentleman... BUT he is trying to win Elizabeth wich makes me hate him. If you watch when calls the heart you probably have guessed I am team Nathan. I am! Nathan is so much better for Elizabeth. I could get into a long talk on why, but let's skip it.

Poor Nathan! 😭😭😭

I think they should get Lucas hooked up with Fiona! That would be SO great! ECKCK!

Okay, now a few Nathan gifs because Nathan is better than Lucas.

Oddity: A character who was strange, but you loved them that way

Vizzini

 (The Princess Bride)

Can I just say that the fact that I chose Vizzini is Inconceivable. Okay, sorry.

Now before I tell you all why I picked Vizzini, let us all have a bit of a cry and a laugh for this poor baby...

Well Vizzini is just the best. He is a moron that clams that Socrates is a moron. He dies halfway into the movie and yet is never forgotten. His famous line "inconceivable" is well known and shall go down in history. That is all I have to say. Till next time Vizzini.

BTW someone really needs to get his name off spell check. lol

Queen/King: A female/male character who you admire and aspire to emulate

Cinderella

(Cinderella 2015)

I will say this first off.. I do not wish to emulate Cinderella's modesty in some parts of the movie. There. I said it. Moving on...
Cinderella is very patient and kind. I thought of saying Danielle from Ever After but something that is very different between these two "Cinderella" characters is that Cinderella (2015) forgave her evil stepmother while Danielle did not. Cinderella always tried to remember and obey her mothers words. "Have courage and be kind." I thought about this awhile ago... Every girl has a longing to be Cinderella but no girl wants to endure what Cinderella had to endure to become Cinderella. It's easy to say "Have courage and be kind," but it's much harder to have courage and be kind. Even in the end after her evil stepmother had done every evil thing to her, Cinderella turned before leaving with the prince and spoke "I forgive you."

Can I just say that Cinderella's wedding dress is Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!

Savior: A character who oddly reminds you of Christ

Westley

(The Princess Bride)

Okay so, I feel like everyone else has or is going to have someone better that reminds them of Christ but I thought saying Aslan would be cheating. Hey, it did say oddly. Westley had to suffer and die for Buttercup. Jesus had to suffer and die for us. Also Westley was risen from the dead just like Jesus. Westley also defeated Prince Humperdinck and if you have a dizzying intellect you might think of Humperdinck as satan. Except for the fact that  Jesus was all dead while Westley was only mostly dead. I see a lot of allegories in The Princess Bride that remind me of Christ and that's a good think because I love The Princess Bride. If you have read this I believe you shall probably never watch The Princess Bride the same way again.

Wow! This post took me like 3 days too many!

I now tag:

Lilly

Liberty

Laura

And anyone who is reading this and wants to do it.

That's all for now! Have fun storming the castle! Bye bye!

-Beth

Chapter 7

"We should live life to it's fullest, to its most glorious state. A state where honoring God is first and loving ourselves is last. For I tell you all now, the love of thyself and things of this earth is but less than the dust under our feet; but to honor and love God with all thy heart soul mind and strength, that is the greatest and richest thing a man can spend his life on." -Mr. Billing

I wrote that a few nights ago along with the rest of the paragraph. I wanted to let y'all know though that I added chapter 7 to Wattpad. You can read it here

Meet my Book Characters

 Hello followers!

I have been wanting to do this for a while but haven't got around to it. :P I'm calling it.... Meet my Book Characters! In this post I am introducing the three main characters in my book. Have fun reading...

not my images

Priscilla is the 3rd eldest child of seven. She is also the eldest girl in the Billing family. At the beginning of the book she is nineteen but because my book takes place over a year she had a birthday. She plays the piano very well and sings. She is also learning the harp. She takes the time to write letters to friends and also loves the beach as do all the girls. She likes to read and embroider.  All the Billing girls are very feminine yet they do spend much time in sports. She does like to ride and fence but she is the best, and takes the most pleasure in archery. One her best friends is Jane Crawford who also lives in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. To learn more about her you've got to read my book. lol Her character will develop more as I keep writing.

Kitty (Kathrine) is the 4th eldest child and the 2nd girl in the family. At the beginning of the book she is seventeen but soon after turns eighteen. She plays the piano and the violin pretty well. She enjoys reading and journaling. She is not as girly as her eldest sister and has a simplified fashion. She loves the outdoors and taking walks when she's not riding. She, like her sisters, rides, does archery, and fences but rider her horse sea star is her favorite hobby. Her character will develop more as I keep writing.

not my images
Esther is the 5th child of the seven and the third eldest girl. She is sixteen and turns seventeen. She loves reading more than her sisters and is especially good at fencing. Tidiness is her weakness and maturing is her goal. She starts a "great American novel" during the book (I think... I haven't got that far.) Her best friend is another Crawford girl who's name escapes me right now. She rides horses and plays the piano. Her favorite room in the house is the library. She also loves the beach. Her character will develop more as I keep writing.

I hope you all liked this even though it was done very sloppy. I am sorry I haven't added more chapter to Wattpad but I will try to soon. :)

Something I Just Wrote

"Is that fair?" he questioned rather rudely.

"Sir," she said softly. "Life is not fair."

"True, but we should strive to make it as fair as possible within our human boundaries."

"Well of course, but if life were in it's first and truest state of fairness, I believe not one of us would like the outcome."

    "How so?"

"Since you have asked, I shall explain?"

    He nodded and she continued.

"If life were fair to every human soul on earth, everyone, and I do mean everyone would be in torment, burning in the lake of fire for eternity into eternity. No one would reach heaven. No one would receive any kind of love and no one would receive a second chance."

He sat in silence for a few long seconds, pondering the words that had just preceded out of her mouth.

"I shall not embarrass, nor dishonor you any longer, sir," she said calmly and quietly. "But I shall leave you with this. I am in the greatest and uttermost state of gratitude that life is not fair. I am gratefully and humbly thanking God that he made a way for us to escape the fairness of life. In so, we do not have to live in torcher but have a choice. God has given us free wills. If we except his gift of life, paid by his son's death, we shall live with him in heaven for eternity away from sorrow and pain. No more sadness no more tears. Only joy and praise."

..........

That is something I just sat down and wrote for my book. I hope to insert it into a future chapter but thought I would share it with you all now. I am so grateful life is not fair and that God has made a way to life!

You can read chapter 1-6 of my book here

I Might Fall in Love

If he got me flowers, I might fall in love. If he told me I was pretty, I might fall in love. If he took me out and asked for a second date...
